SRS question

I have been trying to improve the audio quality in some of the older music video clips that I collect and am not happy with the results. I like the SRS effect in WMP but have not been able to reproduce a similar sort of enhancement in Cool Edit 2000. Does anyone have any suggestions on the filters to apply, or whether this sort of boost in possible in any of the usual video editing programs, eg, VirtualDub etc? Thanks in advance

Sounds like you just need to use an app like CoolEdit or another sound editor to adjust a few EQ bands. I personally just use the hardware EQ which is built into my TB Santa Cruz card. The Hercules Fortissmo II card I have also has this but more software based.

Maybe I'm wrong but trying to "enhance" a pre-compressed file such as an MP3 might lead to more artifacts.
