Can you extract buttons or background images from a DVD to use in making a new DVD?

If I do like you say and use dvd2avi, yes you can get to the main menu screen, and yes you can then take a snapshot of your screen, but when you do it like this your not even getting close to the original image size. Is there a way to fix this? Also, can you recomend a screen capture utility? I guess the best method may be to use the screen capture built into PowerDVD. I would still like to know how to extract buttons though

Hi,
1) VobRator to demux everything
2) MPEG2VCR 3.11 or Maestro or Vitec or... you name it
or with freeware bit more complicated but works
- DVD2AVI -> .d2v project file
- VFAPI -> virtual AVI
- VirtualDUB, AviUtil, etc.
mike
P.S. Forget the screen capture, you won't get right aspect ratio from DVD2AVI in 16:9 anamorph titles.
