Dear forum,

Is there a generic TV tuning program which could
work with most TV Tuner available in the market ?

Since the original TV tuning program which come
from the package (TV tuner vendor) have some
limitation or even bad looking GUI.

Thank you.

you can try dscaler ( http://deinterlace.sourceforge.net/ ) it's opensource and has many really nice features like real good deinterlacing + framerate doubling.

you can also try fly98 and flyDS ( http://asvzzz.narod.ru/index.htm ) it's really nice and has nice features and skins and stuff.

fly98 can use vfw or wdm and is freeware for win98 and shareware for the newer OSs. flyDS is wdm based and shareware only.

there's also borgtv ( http://www.borgtech.org/ )which is shareware and offers nice features but it's interface is a bit clumsy for me (although they clearly spend a lot of time on the GUI, since it's stylish... but not that easy to use).

cheers

avih missed the best of the lot JTV ,this imho has to be
the best tv app out there with heaps of features, like closed caption , teletext etc., although the babelfish manual is
hard to read :)

i didn't intend to mention ALL the tv apps out there as there are tons of them. i only mentioned the ones i found to be the best. i did try jtv, some while ago, but i don't remember anything about it. so either it didn't install well, or it just didn't leave particular impression ;)

thanx for the link

cheers

@avih,

just using the DScaler, it's good imho,
finally I can see @full screen (WinTV2000 is not).
and the image quality is superb. ;)
