What is interface in TMPGEnc ?

If I turn that off , what will happen ?

Depending if your film is progessive or interlaced you should encode with or without that option enabled. TmpgEnc does an auto-detect, so you probably wont have to worry about it.

Progressive is like this:

Line 1. Picture information
Line 2. Picture information
Line 3. Picture information
etc
etc.
We are using 25 frames/sec Pal and 30/sec Ntsc.


Interlaced:
Field 1:
Line 1. Picture information
Line 2. nothing
Line 3. Picture information
etc.

Field 2.
Line 1. Nothing
Line 2. Picture information
Line 3. Nothing
etc.

These 1/2 part of pictures are comming fast and your eyes thinks these are a hole picture.

If you are in Pal than the movie has 50 1/2 pictures in a sec. and 60 in NTSC.

If you are making mpeg2 than you have to choose correct field order otherwise you get radded movement.
