Making DVDR compatible in Standalone Problem

After reading the many rip guides etc and trying to follow them to the 'T' - I still can't copy a DVD9! DVD5 is no problem and I have coppied several with no complications. I have a Pioneer DVR-A03 with MyDVD / Instant CD&DVD / Nero.

After many attempts I decided not to bother with the opening menu,as I am really only interested in the film, but to rip the film VOB's - rename them VTS_01_x.xxx (to keep in with the DVD specification) and use Ifoedit to create new Ifos and then reset the navigation-pointers in the vobs and Get VTS Sectors etc.

So far so good - except it still won't play on a standalone !!!!!
Then I noticed that in the VMG overview and in The VTS overview it says the menu is MPEG-1 and NTSC. The Video is MPEG-2 and PAL as it should be. How can I correct this - and I presume that this would cause it to come up with Bad Disc on a Standalone DVD Player ???

I don't think that I am a computer fool and I have learnt a lot from this forum so far - but obviously not enough !!

Any suggestions to preserve my sanity ????? Thanks for your help.

Perhaps you can post what you have done exactly?
I couldnt remember that i have renamed something, there must be a thread with this problem. So far i know this doesn`t work like this.
Try to copy the movie files to your destination directory and all the ifos and bups before it with the 0 vob that should work.

I have now cracked it, both with and without Menu !!!!
THE PROBLEM - There are copious amounts of ripping/copy guides on the net - and before I found this forum, I tried several of them. They all seem to say the same thing but in different ways with different angles!!!!
I have downloaded all the software required (especially Ifoedit which I have found in about 3 file sizes) from links within the Doom9 network and have used the excellent guides by Derrow (linked to MPUCODER.kewlhair.com/derrow).
You've tried the rest - now try the best!!!!
My advise after many all-nighters, DVD-R media, Grey Hairs and Frayed nerves is download all software from this site and only use the guides from Derrow - THEY WORK. (Thanks Derrow)
