I've captured about 48 mins of DV video using Ulead. I want to now output the .avi using the Panasonic DV codec to the hardrive. I have 11 gigs free but when I select 'MAke Movie' and choose my settings (aka select the Panasonic DV codec and choose type-2), the rendering stops at 49% every time and tells me I need more space. But when I check the file, its 4.99 gigs and I have over 6 gigs left free on my hardrive. Is this a file size limit problem with Ulead. BTW, Im running win2k using ntfs file system.

What version of Ulead are you using?

Media Studio 6.0 and 6.5 can handle files of unlimited size on ntfs(only the filesize prediction seems to be stuck on the 4GB limit sometimes, but that doesn't matter).

Try a newer version of Uleads Video Studio. You can get test versions at http://www.ulead.com
