When selecting, "just mux" in the audio encoding tab, Gknot selects to interleave audio every 2 frames and sets preload to 500 ms. I'm wondering why it is not setting to interleave audio and video every (1) frame?

Also, is there any way to calculate the bitrate correctly, when using a CBR MP3 file?

higher interval - less overhead - higher bitrate for your movie.

the higher, the better, but:
there is an upper limit, depending on audio format. an interval that's too high will cause synch problems or jerky playback.

vbr-mp3: 1 frame.
ac3: 1-4 frames.
cbr-mp3, wav: 10-20 frames.

Wef, thank you for all your assistance. I really was helped by your response in the Aspect Error thread as well.

Since Gordian Knot uses 2 as the default interleave audio/video value, is this value also coded into its Calculator?
If I should prefer to use the value 1 instead (as you also suggest in your reply for a VBR MP3), will it cause my finished file (DivX 3.11) to be too large, since GKnot assumes the value 2 when calculating?

Also, I sometimes like to use a CBR MP3 instead of VBR. How can I compensate for this is GKnot? It does not have that option under Interleaving/AVI-Overhead?
