Which produces the best quality? I just tried ffdshow and I cant see much differance, DivX seems a little better. What do you guys think?

p.s if you just want to playback DivX files can you install the ffdshow filters instead of the DivX codec?

ffdshow is better for DivX5.0.1 at the moment because the latter has a playback bug. If you alter brightness etc from the default 50 %, a "dark band" appears down the RHS of the screen - the brightness of that band doesn't change like the rest of the screen

AFAIK, yes. The great thing about ffdshow is it doesn't hijack playback. By running the ffdshow config (shortcut created at installation), you can enable or disable what its used to playback, at will.
