2Pass or 1P-QualityBased100?

I did a test with movie: at first I used 1 Pass Quality Based 100%, after that I tried 2-Pass. Both with maximum Bitrate. At the End both showed nearly same filesize.

Does that mean, that it's not necessary to use 2Pass if I use maximum bitrate in case the movie never reaches that amount of needed Bitrate?

Take a look at the average bitrate you ended up with on the 100% quality-based encode. Basically, if you go any higher than that bitrate in 2-pass encoding, you're not going to get any benefit :)

Well, I use maximum Bitrate (10.000@DivX5). Therefore I guess the 2Pass is quite useless for me since nearly no movie reaches this amount of needed Bitrate... Am I right?

The movies I mean aren't any action films with fast movings, just movies with many slow motions...

1-pass 100% quality = 1-pass quantizer 2 = 2-pass at maximum bitrate

2-pass allows the codec to change the amount of compression on a per-frame basis. It's purpose is to deliver the maximum possible quality for a variable bitrate video, using an overall average bitrate as input.

If size isn't a concern, don't bother with it.
