Bug Report (?)

DVD2SVCD seems to have a bug with subtitles making VCD.

Here an extract from PERMSUBS file:

Shouldn't those 4xx (Y position) values be 1/2 that value?
The Subtitle appear at the very bottom of the screen, when they should be a little higger.
Halfing that value make them appear where they were supposed to be (I have tried it).
I suppose 480 lines resolution are been taken in those calculations. Am I right?

No, I don't think so. You have to adjust the subs yourself. Use the preview for that, that's why it's there.

btw, that is one helluva bad subject, next time, write something that identifies your problem :mad:

Well, sorry. :(
Y-POS is at -1, as I always have used them.
If I change them manually, they will never be were they were suppose to be - a two line subtitle is at a different position from a one line susbtitle. Besides, some times subs are at different locations (top of screen) for instance, to let us see some movie details.

I'll try to import the file in Excel, reduze the value to half and use that file changed. This way I have the subtitles at there original position (as I was able to confirm).

Did you really made a VCD with subtitles? Or this only a typo and you meant SVCD?

Labersack: I think he means Permanent Subtitles.

jopereira: I do thank you for your bug report, the only thing I objected against was your choice of subject. I will see what could be the problem with -1 and VCDs

Labersack: Yes, permanent ones.

DVD2SVCD: The reason I choose that subject is because I wanted to make a bug report BUT I was not sure of that been a "bug".
I have never taken a look at subs file before, but when I did see this one it makes me wonder if the calcs were made based on a ????*576 (EDITED, was 480) resolution.
Perhaps I should have choosen "Permanent Subtitles in VCD - out of place?"
