The encoding with divx 5.01 and VD 1.4.10 creates the files:
c:\\divx.log
c:\\mvinfo.bin
c:\\trace_b.txt

The first two got always recreated after each movie compress, but the trace_b.txt not and became bigger and bigger and slowed the process down to 1 frame/second. The trace_b.txt file was after several movies at 190MB.
The file contains a line with some stats for each frame, for first pass and then same again for second pass.

If I do not forget I delete this file after each movie. Now I have in average 14 frames/second.

So far so, so good. But why can't I find anything about this problem in the internet or on doom9 ?

I believe that file is part of a bug in the current version, hopefully it will be fixed in the new release. Basically it shouldn't be created at all.

Good to know! I haven't noticed these files yet (I've only been using 5.01 for a few days)
