Between 8 and 12 hours. Maybe a little more maybe a little less. Its kinda hard to tell excatly how long it will take. The best thing to do when you 1st start out is leave it on overnight while you are sleeping and hope that when you wake up in the morning you have your .bin and .cue files.

hi

i'm converting Joe Dirt and it has been running for Approx 16hrs so far it is on its third pass in CCE at the moment.

the third pass has been running for just over 2hrs and it is projecting there is 17hrs left till completion.

i'm not sure if there is some sort of confliction with CCE or if the times i'm getting are usual.

i'm running XP and when CCE is encoding there are to CCE windows.......1st is the CCE main window and the 2nd is the encoding window.
the 1st main window shows up in task manager as "not responding" during encoding. the 2nd encoding window is running ok.

it this normal?
i suspect possibly that my slow encoding could be related to a CCE confiction

btw i can successfully convert to SVCD but it takes along long time

well thx again

Like I said it can take a long time to do an encode. Maybe I was off by a bit when I said 12 hours. Dont forget that the video encoding is very processor intensive. The faster your chip the faster your encode will go. At 900 its not all that fast. If you wanted to do faster encodes there are ways to get almost as good quality and go way faster then you are now. Do a search on the forum for faster encodes and you should be able to find it. You can also try this thread: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13435

If you used the seach function you would have seen probably around 100 posts on this very subject.

thx for all the help and suggestions

the problem still exists however

i have tried the search thing and read some of the tutorials but didn't find any resolution yet

can someone please post ,who operates under windows XP, if they get CCE "not responding" in task manager while encoding? it will show 2 (two) windows for CCE one is the encoding window , the other is the CCE window

BTW XP by default sets hdd's to DMA all my ide devices are currently set to DMA.

thank you for all suggestions and warm help

CCE not responding is perfectly normal. XP is talking about the first process that launched the second process so only the second process will respond. This gives the error, but means nothing and is normal.
