I already searched the forum and I couldnt find the answer that I am looking for, most likely cause this is a stupid problem but I dont know what to do. I have a DIVX file that I would like to convert to SVCD. Using the AVI option in D2S I thought I was all set but when it came time to encode the video it took aboit 30 sec. I knew something was wrong. So I switched from CCE to TMPG. While using TMPG I got an error that was displayed in the window that shows you what TMPG is currently working on. It was:
AVISource: couldnt locate a decompressor for fourcc div3
(D:\Lord 1\AviSynth_spcipt_file.avs, line 2)

I am pretty sure this is what it said. It was kinda hard to read. Does anyone know what I have to do to fix this?

Thanks
Jason

I downloaded and installed the 2 programs that were listed there. When I tried to use the converter I got an error that said the source file cannot be converted by this application.

I don't know much about DivX movies but it sounds like you don't have the right DivX codec installed. Do the movies play fine with MediaPlayer or anything else? If so, then I have no idea. If not, and you have the DivX 5.0 codecs installed, try the divx 3.11 codecs. Some movies I encoded with the 3.11 codecs will not play with only the 5.0 codecs installed. :(

Thanks man that seemed to solve the problems. All I had to do was install the 5.01 codec. I forgot that on my encoding comp I didnt have Divx installed at all. I knew that it was something stupid.
