Why is the encoded audio following the Doom9 instructions - AC3 created by DVD2AVI 1.76 -> WAV created with Azid 1.8 -> MP3 LAME encoded - not as loud as the original DVD sound?
While the audio encoded with GraphEdit (Doom9 Guide: http://www.doom9.org/graphedit_mp3.htm) is as loud as the original! :confused:

Please be more especific about the way you do it, like what parameters you used and how do you listen to the original.

I use Windows Media Player (WinXP Pro) for comparison!
The DVD sound is as loud as the MP3 file created by GraphEdit (CBR 128k), but not as loud as the the way I encode with DVD2AVI, Azid and LAME as follows... Why? :confused:
1. DVD2AVI 1.86 decoding - I select the appropriate audio track from the list, then I go to the Dolby Digital submenu and select Demux. -> AC3-file
2. Using Azid 1.8 with the following parameters -z1 -b1 -c normal -L -3db -> WAV-file
3. And then using Lame 3.92 with the parameters --alt-preset128 -> MP3-file

to maximize the volume of your track, use the --maximize switch of azid.

THX for the tip, it works fine. :D

Ok, I am so curious, what is then the difference in the procedure of the GraphEdit filters (attached) vs. Azid that the sound with Azid is not as loud as the orginal DVD audio? While, as I said before, the sound created with GraphEdit is as loud as the orig.
Is this only a mystery on my pc? :confused: Or does anybody experienced something similar?
