The xvid-developers are very aware of these things, especially since divx5 users nag about them ;), so it is a given that sooner or later they will look into it.

What the hell they are? I think you are easily breaking a rule or two by asking that question, as you could easily find out if you do a search on this board. Or just read the divx 5 info/press relase on divx.com. Or simply doom9's divx5 guide. <sigh>

well.. way may be strict in enforcing the rules but we're also forgiving to people who come around.. so don't worry too much. We're all very anxious to get all the nifty mpeg4 gadgets into xvid but if you're not a programmer all you can do is sit tight and wait till it's done.

I've got nothing but respect for the efforts of those working on Xvid. I'm loooking forward to (Hoping) for something that can equal or indeed BETTER DiVX5.01 in terms of performance and quality JUST so I can get away from DiVX5.01 (I hate the licensing baloney and believe an opensource video codec can only benefit everyone in the end. In fact I do not know why some hardware manu's are even considering DiVXx.xx as a codec. When they could be be using Xvid for free).
