Here's my "full" answer. :D

It lets me choose the maximum resolution possible for the file size I want to obtain. That said, it helps me choose between a 1 or 2 CD rip.

Why not do it? It only takes 10 mins to which res and number of cds to use like jggimi says. I would rather do that than waste 5 hours and find out I needed 2 cds instead of 1.
