cce bug with avi2svcd

I've used dvd2svcd with cce and had no problem. I tried an avi file as input (avi2svcd) and cce doesn't encode it. It only encodes the title and change disc pics. CCE encodes the avi to mpeg fine by itslef (outside avi2svcd).

I have read the posts on similar probs, nothing I've tried so far has worked.

if you have divx 5, that may be a culprit. try uninstalling it, reinstalling the older divx codecs, and report back.

It didn't work, cce actually stopped after reading files, I had to press encode and exit when finished, still no movie file.

You are using an old build upgrade and try again.

I tried the newest build, got the same hangup with build 7,8, and 9.
DVD2SVCD works great, tried it again last night, still no AVI2SVCD. Tried encdoding with cce alone again and recieved an error, I don't remember what the error was. I've been trying it on my athlon XP 1600, I'll try on the P4 today.

What is the source of the avi? I have been using dv video into dvd2svcd (latest version) with no problem. Maybe you could narrow down the prob that way.

converting avi to svcd is a very tiresome process. for some reason, cce always hangs for me too. but you have to be reislient and not give up. u also have to be positive that cce is compatible on your computer hardware by running prime95 or any other torture tests. when you know for a fact that cce always hangs with avi2svcd only, then you can begin trying things. for starters, u can check the vfapi option. it will take a long time, esp with temp smoother, but will get the job done. if it freezes try it again. it once froze when cce was at 94% after about 16 hours. i was mad but i retired from scratch and voila...it worked. moreover, u can try ddogg's suggested stress test to see what is up with cce. well, hope this helps...if not report back

there is an option in the new dvd2svcd 1.0.9 build 1

once you load the avi.. in the MISC tab you pick convert divx3 to divx4

that might help
