View Full Version : Proggie to read IFO files???

Okay, well if anyone read my other post I am having some problems. I can't figure out what the cause of them are. I have tried different codecs and a different ripper and different versions of flask.

I am getting to the point that I have to try something other than flask.

The problem: When I encode a movie I can not open it. Under Radlight it tells me that the movie can't be opened because "Cant divide by integer zero".

What I am looking for basically is something that I can use to convert the vob files into an avi file so I can use Virtual Dub to work it from there. Or maybe even Premiere, since I have that also, but am not too familiar with it...

I have tried many different encoders yesterday and found that FU is working fine, but I don't really want to use that as my main encoder. I like to have a little more control over what I do... But I can say that the files did come out flawlessly!!! So that means it's not my PC!!! woohoooooo.....

I started working with DVD2AVI yesterday and I think that that is what will work for me, but the problem with it is that I can't find anything to allow it to open the IFO files... All I want to do is convert a part of the movie to an AVI file so I can DivX it...

If there is ANYONE that can help me I would GREATLY appreciate it. I have been dinking around with this problem for a while now and am becoming very frustrated. The funny part is I'm not a newbie to DivX, but I've been having nothing but problems since DivX 5.0 Pro was released...

So thank you in advance that can take the time to help me out:)

If you want to encode only part of the movie, yoou can still use DVD2AVI. Just use the [ and ] and select which part of the movie you want. You can always load only one vob, use SmartRipper to rip only certain parts of the movie and then load into DVD2AVI.
Later you have to save your project, load it into GKnot, crop, resize and save your .avs file. This file you can load into VDub and encode using divx 5 without any problems (hopefully).
Hope that helps...
take care

Or you can make the .avs the normal way and then use the Trim(first frame, last frame) command to choose the frames you want to encode.

You can also use a rip tool that lets you rip individual chapters, such as SmartRipper.

Alright,

I got rid of Flask...

This is how I'm doing it now.. Please let me know how this sounds...

SmartRipper to rip the individual movie or piece that I want to encode...

Then, DVD2AVI to split off the AC3 stream and convert the movie to an AVI project. Use the VFAPI to create a frame server of the movie itself and then serve it to Virtual Dub to compress the movie with DivX.

After that, I use BeSWEET to convert the audio to MP3 and then Finally, Nandub to put the audio and the video together again...

I would have to say that I made a 36 second clip from :devil:Brianna Loves Jenna:devil:, and it turned out PERFECTLY!!! IE.. You could NOT tell the original from the backup!!!

So, to those of you who recommended I drop Flask - Thank You:)

My video looks almost the same as before, but a little bit better, but the audio matches perfectly. There's no drop in the sound. I can't tell a difference between the Lame and Radium, but the sound level is back to normal which is rather nice.

So, once again, THANK YOU!!!
