View Full Version : Blade Runner - jerky SVCD - No matter what the seting!

I have been struggling to get a decent backup of Blade Runner DVD to SVCD. The DVD is a 4:3 version, DVD2AVI flickers between 85% FILM and 15% NTSC ( I have been using FORCED film but now I am thinking that maybe that is the problem?) All other settings I can think of gives a slightly jerky svcd. I have tried top field, bottom field, interlace on, off, changed the encoding frame rate - NOTHING seems to change the slight jerky playback. And it looks this way on both the PC and on my standalone player (Shinco 868) - so that rules out the issue of the "burn speed" as far as the CD burner goes. Any help? Every other SVCD I have made so far have turned out fine, but this one is driving me nuts!

Don't know if this helps or not but this thread discusses this type of issue:

Thanks Mac
Yeah, it must be in need of IVTC, but as I am somewhat new to this, I hadn't had to deal with this process yet. I will do more searching on it and thanks for your thread.
What % of DVD movies out there require IVTC?

To be honest, I haven't had to deal much with this. I have only run across 1 dvd in about 100 encodes, so I don't think its very common. Come to think of it, that dvd was an older movie also. I just happen to remember reading about your same type of problem. Good luck and let me know how it turns out.
