Svcd to Vcd

I have a svcd (mpeg2) that i want to change to a vcd an have no clue as to if it can be done. I'm new to svcd so if anybody could help---Thank You !!(SVCD: Unfortunately as of now I don't know any tool to convert the SVCD streams on a SVCD disc to another format since the files on the disc are somehow different from the source files you use to burn your SVCD. However source SVCD files can be converted as long as they haven't been burned.) Is this still true?

If you copy your movie from CD with isobuster with the option
"Extract but FILTER only M2F2 Mpeg frames" you get back the movie as it were before the burning.

As for the conversion. Why do you want do convert to VCD?
To make the conversion you have to recompress the hole movie.
You are not thinking about the possability to remux the movie as a fake vcd and then burn it as a vcd. This is one way to get some DVD players to be able to play SVCD even if the spec for the player only says DVD/VCD.
My player can play SVCD nativly. I can not see this kind of fake VCD.

thank you for your answer but the reason i want to go from svcd to vcd is so a friend of mine can watch it on his computer. i play mine in my dvd player , but he doesnt have a dvd player on his computer so it needs to be in a format wmp will open like vcd. : )

You don't need to convert to VCD in other for your friend to watch it on his computer. SVCD is an MPEG2 format, so all your friend need is an MPEG2 codec, and a software-based player that can play your MPEG2 clip. Your friend doesn't even need a DVD drive in his computer since the SVCD MPEG2 clip is on the CD.

If your friend doesn't have software DVD Player, but if he has an MPEG2 codec, Windows Media Player will play it. It's not as nice as the true software DVD Player (i.e. PowerDVD, WinDVD, etc.) though.

Do a search for Ligos Mpeg Suite 2.0. Great software package for encoding (ok, not as good as CCE), and it comes with the necessary codec for MPEG2.

Another solution is to install any DVD-software like PowerDVD or WinDVD. WinDVD is able to play the SVCD disk directly and it installs its codecs as DirectStream codecs. This means that after you have installed WinDVD you can play MPEG2 in Microsofts Mediaplayer.
It also handles chapters if there where any on the SVCD.

I am in a similar situation. Installing a new codec on the second machine is not an option, and quality isn't an issue, simply playback.

I was using TMPGEnc before it expired, and had the problem with the audio conversion. Seems it didn't match the timestamps and thus when the 48000->44100 happened, we got desynch. Any ideas on how this might be resolved?

My solution at the time was just to keep the higher frequency, resulting in an out-of-spec VCD. It wasn't a problem because playback was on a computer, but I'd like to know if there's a bettr solution.
