my first post in here

I'm trying to covert DVD to VCD, but I want a dual language VCD(2 languages in 2 indivdual channels), so I can switch them around with a DVD player.

I already have those 2 tracks, just don't know how to mix them in one single wav or mp3 but in 2 separate channels.

thanks

The VCD-Standards have only one audio track(stereo=tow channels).

Solution 1: for DVD-Player with Karaoke-Functions
1a. convert the 2 language tracks in 2 mono wave files.
1b. combined the tow mono files in WaveLab or CoolEditPro to a stereo track.
1c. authoring normally.
1d. use the karaoke button to change the language during playback.
or: turn off the volume of one channel(lef or right)

Solution 2: for every DVD-Player, but short movie
1a. mux the tow audio tracks with the video seperately in tow mpg files.
1b. put the two files on vcd as tow tracks(max. 40 Min. per language)
1c. make a still image menu at start up
1d: At start menu press 1 for first track/language, 2 for 2nd.

Solution3: give up vcd, make a svcd
but there is still some annoy thing for 2 lingual movies...

good luck
