i just spent the last few days making a full dvd useing scenartist with menues and everything .. i have scenartist make the image and ran the ifo through ifoedit so i could do the preview .. all my menus buttons etc worked fine .. so i opened vob instant cd and opened the image and burned away ( i have a lf-311 ) ..
the dvd will not play in anything but the burner .. this includeds the dvd-rom in the same machine as the burner ....
while trying to figure out hat was going on i opened the video_ts.ifo off the dvd in ifoedit and hit get vts sectors ... well it said it found like 15 places that needed to be changed ( of course this is on a dvd so it couldnt change it ) .. i figured the image was screwed or that vob instant cd messed up somewhere ...

so i got ahold of the trial of gear dvd 6.0 ( had to search for a mirror as it seems it's no longer avilable on gears site ) and i created a new video dvd project and it asked wher my video_ts stuff was ... as soon as it scanned the dir i got (error still on screen so i'm copying word for word)

Load error on file VTS_01_0.IFO
File cannot be loaded at the required address (646) because the address is already occupied.
First available load address is 659.

i have tried to do a get ts sectors on the ifo scenarites created and ( suprize suprize) it finds the same #'s as on the burned dvd .. tried gear agin and same error.

anyone have any clue as to what this error is?

funny .. who would of thought that scenartist ( one of the the industry leaders for making DVS's ) would as gear states
"Some authoring programs produce video_ts dirs where the file offsets of files do not completely conform to the DVD spec. "

anyone know of a way to manualy change my file offset?

well i guess i'll try vob instant cd with the image ifoedit makes ... at least i know they are aware of it now.
