ive got 3 disney DVDs, all smaller than 4gb, i used Smart Ripper to rip them, then ifo edit to remove region coding, now when i burn them back to dvds they dont work in standalone players whereas the rest of my non disney dvds work fine, yet they play in my pc dvdrom, and when i try to reauthor them it gives me an error about inconsistent bitrate, and chopping the end off a movie isnt viable atm, i want it complete,

any ideas?

Try playing it first with IfoEdit (v0.9) DVD player. It should tell you what the problem. If it plays well, then the problem is in your burning process (most likely). Hope this helps.:D

If they play on the computer and don't play in your stand alone it sounds like a sector problem. If you described you process in a little more detail it would help others figure out the problem.

Here's some questions to get us started...

Did you use the "Files" method on SmartRipper?

Did you perform "Get VTS sectors" with IfoEdit? (Shouldn't be necessary if you used the "Files" method but won't hurt either).

What program (and version) did you use to burn the disk?

Did you use the same kind of blanks that you used for the other DVD's that work with your standalone player?

Have you tried reading all the files back to your hard drive to verify that the disk is truly good?

Isn't it a "new" copy protection? It's something abouth empty VOBs??!I've seen a tread here or on vcdhelp.com abouth it. Search these forums.
