SVCD Ripping

I have some burnt SVCD's I would
like to recover the MPEG2 files
from them since they are no more
on my HD. They are on the AvseqXX.mpg
format (SVCD wrapped) on the burnt CD-R.

Is there some free software that can
do that?
Or there is a method to do it using
some doom9 free software?

Not really specific to DVD2SVCD is it?

VCDXRIP, part of VCDImager package does what you want.

The easier way to use it IMHO is to download VCDEasy and then use it as a GUI. In VCDEasy, press the "tools" button.

What you do is split (demux) video and audio ... you can do this straight from the CD. Then you're free to recompress re-interleave or do whatever ...
I've sometimes had to try a whole series of programs until it works ... it is not consistent.

First I use:
1) "Simple demux" in TmpgEnc (under mpeg tools in the file meny)
2) bbtools -> BBDMUX.exe (very simply DOS-CML)
3) Pulldown.exe

This is true, this post has been covered a lot of time, but I had never get a "working procedure". I have a lot of SVCD's that I made using the following steps:

1- DVD2AVI/TMPGEnc method.
2- Then I split the resultant SVCD file (Mpeg-2 file) with DVDtools. 3- Then I author my Mpeg files with TSCV to create my SVCD in 2 or 3 CD's.

I had read guides from this site and others, and I had not been able to change my SVCD's to DVD. When I try to copy my Mpeg-2 file from my second or third CD to my Hard disk, errors are found and the copy procedure crash. I had use all available tools for doing this with no success. The only tool that was able to copy my Mpeg-2 file to my HD is DVtools, but when I try to demux the Mpeg-2 file with TMPGEnc or bbmpeg, no video is found (even when it is there). This Mpeg-2 file also cannot be play with Windows Media Player. However I discovered that it can be play with WinDVD.
The only procedure that works with this file is to load it again in DVD2avi an make a project, so it can reencoded with TMPGEnc to a new MPEG-2 file that can be used to make your DVD...

Any Ideas?

perfectly. Thanks for your attention.

Before posting my thread I did read a lot
of inespecific screens from the searching
machine for the "SVCD Ripping" key words.

I got another SVCD Ripper freeware that
worked very well too. MPEGTool, written
by Dino.

It is a chinese (Taiwan) site.
You do not need to download the characters
set because the software name is written
with our characters at the download line.
