View Full Version : easiest way to do AC3->MP3
DSPguru
6th May 2002, 21:17
hi all,
i've heard some newbies says that BeSweetGUI is too complicated, so i thought you might wanna know about EasyBeSweet (http://www.rip-it.de/modules/mydownloads/singlefile.php?lid=1) - the easiest tool in the world for transcoding ac3 into mp3/ogg.
this nice tool simply adds a new entry to your Windows Explorer shell extension, and transcoding is being done with right click on the AC3 file in windows.
this makes transcoding as easy as playbacking.
Good Luck !

Thank you DSP for that info!
I am sure it will help some of our newbies ;)
I will make that a sticky for a while.
Take care

Hi !
DSPGuru suggested that I put my GUI for BeSweet here.
For me th BeSweet GUI from DD was always somewhat "overloaded" with features I didnīt need and that were IMHO too complicate for newbies. So I wrote my own GUI.
Give it a try !

@Darksoul71
Is there a way that you could have your GUI recognise if the AC3 file is 2 channel or 5.1? Most people use LFE to LR -3db on 5.1 channel sources, however you prog doesn't use it.

Hi Headhunter !
Sorry for my late reply ! No, this isnīt possible.
My GUI is only a frontend and I donīt have a clue how to check how many channels an AC3 file has.

sorry DSP Guru, that URL although not dead only suggests to go to the downloads section, and we end up with a dead download link again.
I found a download site here
http://divx.dva.pl/index.php?dzial=download&nr=2576
click on the CDicon, if you dont understand the language(like me)

perhaps a sticky post with all alternative gui for besweet and other dsguru tools will be welcome , and set them in order of difficulties to use (more detailled to more newbie user).
sorry for my bad english :)
EDIT: a memory pipe way for the gui could be fine to get the % encoding . just hope dspugur could add this in besweet (dos version) else the dll is the only way to get the % value .
Bye.

What i would like to see is instructions how to use the Batch process in BesweetGUI. (sorry if there is one, but i could not find it, here or at the authors site).
Thats what I was looking for when I stumbled across EasyBesweet, which makes it a bit simpler when doing 20 AC3 files at the same time.

I've tried going to the original links for this program and can't seem to find any that still work....
If someone could help out by posting the new link or e-mailing (nysteelo@lycos.com) it to me, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks..

Hi, guys. I have EasyBeSweet.
My motherboard has burnt down (?!@#%!!). I am now wasting the soles of my shoes and wearing down my telephone trying to find a warranty replacement. Y'now HOW difficult that is. Right now I'm posting from somebody else's computer...
I have the eMails of you guys. j_olson@hotmail.com and nysteelo@lycos.com. I'll send you all copies, relax. I'll try to do it as SOON as I can, even before my MoBo problem is fixed.
Regards.
