Hello. I have an ATI AIW 7500 video card that I hook up my analog cable to using the coax cable. I capture with MMC 7.6 at many different resolutions. My question is first, what resolution is my max i mean 720x480 works real clear but i was told that ananlog catv is 320x240 max?
also when i capture at 720x480 7.2kbps mpeg1 and 720x480 7.2kbps mpeg2 i really cant tell the difference? i would prefer to continue to capture at mpeg1 because it easier for me to compress to divx but somthing tells me mpeg2 is better. any suggestions would be great.

Er, use what is best for you... If you don't see any difference between MPEG1 and MPEG 2 capture then why bother? The same applies to everything else, like capture resolution etc. The best is to try for yourself.

And if analog TV would only have a "resolution" of 320x240 then why would anyone bother with a better format than VHS?
