SVCD2SVCD ???

Hello

I just wonder if any of you guys know how to re-encode a alredy coded SVCD, the thing why I whont to do this is that I have bought an Pionner DV-444 and it cant play all of the SVCD that I done before :mad: becuse the total bitrate is to high

And the big problem is that I dont have some of the DVD´s now.

Does anybody know if I can use DVD2SVCD for this or som other tool.

Please answer, if you know some good way to re-encode SVCD cd´s with only MPEG files and not the DVD ...

You will need to extract the mpeg file. You maybe able to copy it straight off the SVCD or you might need to extract it using another program. DVD2SVCD cannot do this.

The video will suffer a great deal if you have to re-encode it.
If the bitrate is not off that much I suggest trying this.
After you have copied the mpeg off the cd de-mux it(split audio and video) and re-encode the audio only at a lower bitrate. Then mux it back together and see if that will play in your DVD player.

Otherwise if you are able to get the mpeg off the SVCD all you will need is a IFO file that has the same aspect ratio and framerate (NTSC or PAL) as the video you want to re-encode. Rename the Mpeg file to a Vob file and the same as the IFO. Select that IFO off the HD and just encode with the lower settings.

If you look around I am sure you will find enough info to do all of these things if you need more instruction. Don't just look in this forum. Check out the posts in the SVCD forum as well.

Demux the mpg file and remux it with I-Author, that should fix you 444 problems (so I have been told).
