Hi there,
I've got Powerdvd 4 XP and DVD works great with 4 Channel AC3 Sound but when i use the filter with Bsplayer or Zoomplayer 2.6b2 i'm only able to choose dolby surround and stereo. Is there a way to enable the 4 Channel feature?

Why not use the InterVideo filter? I think you'll have better luck out of it compared to the CyberLink filters. Have a look at the AC3 FAQ and it should help you.
If not come back and let us know what you tried and what's not working.

I tried to download Nimos Pack but every time i downloaded it, it was broke. I searched for the Intervideo Filter at edonkey and now i got Version 2 and 2.6 which are only stereo capable and 5 or 6 multichannel versions which all stop working after 6 minutes.
Could you help me?

Why haven't you downloaded the audiofilters.zip from Doom9? Please read the AC3 FAQ in my signature, all of it;)

I ve got the audiofilters.zip, but i got only stereo support. 4 and 5.1 channel is grayed out. Will i have to install a Windvd retail version first? I installed a trial version and after that i was able to choose 4 channel mode but only for 6 minutes. Even when i installed the audiofilters.zip again.
When i deinstalled Windvd, the 4 channel mode stayed but only for 6 minutes.
Is there a registry key i have to change, besides this one?
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\InterVideo\Common\AUDIODEC]
"AUDIO"=dword:00000004"

Which sound card do you have? It's wuite possible the 2.6 filters from audiofilters.zip don't fully support your card properly. Maybe the newer version 3.1.xx only works for it?

same prob here.
i am using a terratec x-fire 1024 (4channels).
All versions of iviaudio aren't working in 4channel mode for me. Only the trial versions seem to work. Only for 6 min of course.
The trial versions that worked are all much bigger in size than the one in dooms pack. ( maybe of the bigger number of supported soundcards??)
Anyway, i heard about a project to use azid to program a dsfilter for ac3 multichannel decoding.
Does anybody know something about the progress on that project??

Most likely that is the case. Each new version seems to increase the file size quite a bit. The Terratec cards aren't mainstream enough yet to be supported is my guess. However the CMedia chipsets should definitely work. at least my Zoltrix card works in all speaker modes.
I've heard of no project like you mention but it does sound interesting.

I think somebody mentioned this idea before and said that he was working on that.
Azid can give you almost every kind of downmix and even full 5.1 output. so why not give the ouput of azid to a directsound device instead of writing it into a file??
it should be possible and we had our own, fully working filter.
and hopefully it would support all cards.

Hi!
I think I have the newest Version from WinDVD 3! It allows 4 upto 6 Channels without limit but only in DVD Mode! My prob is, that when I try to play an Avi/Ac3 File the 4 Channels are grayed again! I'll try WinDVD 4 tomorrow but i think the prob is an other. Maybe the Filter does not identify the structure of the Ac3 File after it has been copied into the Avi! In Powerdvd the Avi/ac3 File is played with 4 Channels but the the Channels are false. The Front Channels are played only left and the Front Rigth Channels are played from Rear! Maybe we need an other tool for multiplexing Avi and Ac3 (instead of nanodub)!
Ps: i can send you the newest Version!

i installed WinDVD 4 from the intervideo.com (http://www.intervideo.com) site and now i can select all sound modes in Zoomplayer in the windvd section :)
And the zoomplayer gives me a perfect 5.1 sound,
That`s all :D !

i've had the same problems with the grayed 5.1 or 4 speaker output when ive only installed the filters. after installing windvd 3.1 and taking the filters from the common dir of windvd and registering them in the windows/system32 dir all options were working. maybe it has got to do something with some registry keys windvd makes when its installed...
