View Full Version : Video (DivX 4) works... audio (MP3) works... but not when muxed together?

I have an avi that is just video (no audio yet). It plays in both WMP and BSPlayer fine.
I have my MP3 file (the audio for the movie). It plays in WMP and Winamp fine.

I mux the files together using Nandub, and all of a sudden I get the error "invalid audio but not signalling an error".

I get the same error message in both WMP and BSPlayer. I went back and dug out some old movies I had done in MP3 audio to make sure they work.. turns out they don't. All the old ones that USED to work now give this error also.

See attached picture.

Anyone have any ideas??

Missing directshow filter? Wrong demuxer filter? Dunno. That's a strange error you're getting. What OS are you using, etc?

Windows XP.

Maybe try reinstalling DirectX? See if that does anything?

Just tried, didn't seem to make a difference.

So I'm assuming this is VBR audio that you're making with GordianKnot?
You haven't changed any of the LAME dll's or anything else in the audio/Nandub portion of the install have you?

Right, well actually when I made a couple of these, it was pre-GordianKnot when you actually did it all yourself ;)
And I think they are actually CBR, not VBR, but that shouldn't make a difference.

And no, haven't messed with any of the dlls.

The possibity is you may see a big difference when muxing VBR instead of CBR. It's a well know fact that AVI doesn't handle VBR files very well. This is why a lot of us dumped AVI awhile back and are using Ogg instead:)
