I have an mpg movie that is to large (846 megs)to put on a single 700mb CDR. I used TMPEnc 2.53.35 mpeg tools to cut the credits out. The file is then 744 megs. I used VCD Easy to burn with 20 chapter points as a SVCD as is the original mpg file. The trimmed mpg looks fine on my computer but the video is horizontally shifted to the right with the right side of the image wrapping back to the left side of the image.

What does this type of problem indicate?
Is there a way to fix it?
Is my original mpg no good?
Thanks for any help you can give me

Best guess - the resolution of the SVCD isn't to spec. PC's will usually handle this fine, but DVD players choke on it.

SVCD spec is 480x480 (NTSC) or 480x576 (PAL). Other resolutions have been reported to work on many DVD players (720x480, 352x480), but I don't think you can assume they'll work on all players. And strange resolutions (I did 480x482 once by mistake) are sure to freak the player out.

If your resolution is correct, my next guess would be that you have the SVCD marked as 16:9. I know my Apex player jumps SVCD video all over the place when the stream is marked 16:9
