I want to know whats the easiest way of burning 700-750mb mpeg/avi's to cd.

I have tried using Nero and increasing the 'overburn'. But it still complains that there is not enough space to perform the operation.

From some experienced people, I would like to know the best way of archiving off all those great movies to cd.

I also looked at creating a VCD out of them, but that again requires even more space.

Whats the best way? Any handy hints?

Thanks in advance

Hamish

Cut of the credits, or get 90/99 minute cdr's.

80min CD's can be overburned to about 710MB.
90min CD's can be overburned to about 810MB.
99min CD's can be overburned to about 860MB.

Use a program like VCDeasy or TSCV and you can create Cue/Bin files out of your mpegs and then you can burn up to 807mb's on 80 minute cd's without overburning. VCDEasy even includes CDRAO a free burning program that is very good.

Read the guides on Doom9.

I do not know about Avi's.

Well we have been working in a project to do exactly this, i.e. burning up to 800 MB in a 80 min CD, and without overburning. You can find information in the following threads (in chronological order):
