I already posted this in the Basics forum for the masses, but I wanted to be sure you saw this. I know in your infinate wisdom you already know this, but just in case you forgot.
After installing 1.09 I did a little more thorough then normal reading of the readme files and I came across this:
* Known Bugs *
1. DVD2AVI only aligns the start point of A/V streams.
If the movie is not encoded at once that PTS restarts (such as bonus track or different episodes) It's possible to lose synchronization from the break point.
This could explain some A/V sync issues with some sources. I am almost certain this is the cause that some people are having with the method to combine 2 sided DVD's.
In the DVD2AVI directory there is a DVD2SVCD readme file with old version numbers. I suspect this is just leftover from past builds and just missed.
If you are not aware there are newer versions of DVD2AVI available. The latest being 1.86. I do not know if this is official or not, but the writting style of the readme seems the same. However there is no mention of this version on the official DVD2AVI homepage.
The newer version still lists the A/V sync as a bug.
This is where I found the newer versions of DVD2AVI.

I hope this might help a little.
