I can't seem to get the frameserve to work right with CCE SP 2.5
When I try to add the frameserve up in CCE, the program crashes.
Anyone know why it does this or how I can fix it? I dunno if it has anything to do with me using winxp or not.

What steps are you taking? As for XP, I know that's not your problem because I have no problems with CCE 2.50 on my XP system.

I'm ripping with ripping with dvd decryptor, turning it into a dvd2avi project, running it through tmpeg for deinterlacing and changing that project into a pseudo avi with vfapi. Then when I start up the frameserve in vdub and try to open the file in CCE, but it never loads the file, it just crashes.

Hmm, someone more familiar with Vdub and/or Tmpeg may have to help ya here. I only do DVD authoring and don't use those programs. In fact, over time, I've come to hate the hell out of Tmpeg! I don't know why everyone likes it when it's so damn slow and constantly locks the system up.
Anyway, if I had to make an educated guess, I'd say it had something to do with the step your taking with Vdub. If you made a "pseudo-avi" using VFAPI, you should only have to load that AVI into CCE for encoding. I don't know enough about Vdub to know why that is part of your equation. After I've created the VFAPI AVI, I load that AVI into CCE and encode. Dishes are done. :)

when you frameserve, most of the time you have to leave Virtual Dub (or whatever) to frameserve the video and the audio. if you leave the audio out CCE will crash as you mentioned. you still do not have to do the audio in CCE though, just uncheck it.
