any prog to compress m2v more ?

From a newbie.

I ripped some chapters of different DVD with smartripper and vobrator.
i got some mpeg files with extension .m2v. ( bitrate 8,000Mb )
NE1 know a program that works with this extension to merge or split and compress down further more to around 4,500. So i can fit 2 hours into a 4.7G DVD disk.

Appreciate very much any help.

It's possible to reencode a mpeg2 video stream with a little program called rempeg.
It's also possible with tmpgenc (http://www.tmpgenc.net/), but i think the quality is not so good as rempeg
