I have copied, backupped, encoded many dvd's with the guides here and have never had a problem until now. With both Miramaxs Serendipity and The Others, when the movies starts the credits jump in and out with broken audio , the text is English then French. This happens only for the first 10 minutes or so and then the rest is fine. SOrt of like a shuddering of text then it changes really quick. Any ideas? Thanks. Btw, I am using a Pioneer AO3 with the latest firmware.

These are multiangles DVDs. Follow this guide from doom9 http://www.doom9.org/mpg/ifoedit-multiangle.htm to strip angles. Note: You will be presented with the list of VOB IDs even if you did not check strip VOBs. Some IDs are check, some are not. Do not change anything, just accept the default. Good Luck. :)

Serendipity is multi-angle? I have this DVD and never noticed. What does it display? I'll have to check that disc out when I get home.

Multiangles in the sense that it has the french and english language on it. If you play the first VOB of the movie (not from the menu)you'll notice that the movie title and the production notes are alternating from french to english. The problem here is that if you transcode the VOBs without stripping the angles, you'll end up with an M2V having alternating display. And when you remux it back to VOB, you'll still end up with the same -- a garbled movie.
