Mummy Returns has extreme Automatic Gain Control.

Immed after a very loud passage, the speech will become very soft then gradually increase to normal levels.

Is there any way to fix without having to manually examine/fix each
instance?

thanx

dynamic range compression would be your solution.

for asserting an "extreme" agc, just pick a high value as your boosting factor.

don't wanna start a new thread :)

I used the 5.1 AC3 track in my encode of Mummy 2. In BSplayer when playing the movie with Intervideo filter set to 2 speakers - both vocal (I use headphones) I'm having exactly the same problem.
Is there a way to fix this?

I used TMR AC3 T01 3_2ch 384Kbps DELAY 0ms.ac3 (PAL DVD) and BeSweet1.3b12/LAME to get the mp3

Worked fine

Hi, I used the actually AC3 in the encode. So the problem happened when wathing the movie with ac3 sound. But in the mean time I resolved it by selecting "Use Dedynamic filter" in BSPlayer Audio settings. Thanks anyway.
Though I'm kinda curious what does this Dedynamic filter actually do?
