View Full Version : AVI2SVCD Audio cut short
Hiyah....for some reason the audio is cut short..half way through disk 2 it just stops.
Its actually a divx file/movie, when i use virtual dub to extract the wave its all there, also if i use tmpge to extract the audio its all there?
I tryed to extract the audio and then cheat AVI2 SVCD by substituting it back in there before multiplexing but I am not sure which files to replace....the file sizes do not seem to make sense....and although the file is complete from TMPGE its more like a wave file size (over a gig)....when i have the setting set to produce a layer II...some weird #@$# goin on here....and the virtual dub wave is to SMALL!!!.....mebbe i am just tired
btw i checked ALL the audio files produced by AVI2SVCD and they are all cut short....1hr20 instead of 2hrs and 20

you probably need to fix the extraced audio stream using BeSplit.

i didnt want to start a new post. i have the same problem. i encoded an avi to svcd. i only get audio for 41:17 part of the movie. for the rest of the movie, there is no sound. for lazy dave's post, he had an ac3 file. mine is regular. i have posted my besweet and d2s log. dspguru, what seems to be the problem??
ps - can this be done w/o having to go through video encoding?

seems like that's the actual playable length of your track.
can you tell us the filesize of :
C:\monsters\Encoded_audio_1.mp2.wav
C:\monsters\Extracted_audio_1.mpa
btw, i might be wrong, but it looks like you tried to fix (using BeSplit) the encoded file.
to be on the safe side, i'll state again :
BeSplit should be used prior to BeSweet as a stream fixer (for the stream extracted from the avi).
copy this commands to a batch file and run :"C:\WINDOWS\be split 0.4\BeSplit.exe" -core( -input C:\monsters\Extracted_audio_1.mpa -prefix c:\windows\monsters\Encoded_audio -logfile c:\monsters\conversions.txt -type mpa -fix )

and please paste here conversions.txt.

filesize of C:\monsters\Encoded_audio_1.mp2.wav = 453 mb
filesize of C:\monsters\Extracted_audio_1.mpa = i dont think i have this file...i only have two audio files with winamp icons. the one is mp2.wav and the other is ENcoded_audio_1 which is 66.1 mb(maybe this is it).
yes that is exactly what i did. sorry...
i ran the command: "C:\WINDOWS\be split 0.4\BeSplit.exe" -core( -input C:\monsters\Extracted_audio_1.mpa -prefix c:\windows\monsters\Encoded_audio -logfile c:\monsters\conversions.txt -type mpa -fix )

you can playback the file with winamp and see it.
BeSweet just transcode it into mp2, if the length is 42mins, it won't change ;).

try to extract the soundtrack from the avi by yourself (more info can be found at the audio faqs), and use the batchfile.

DSPguru

1. fix it with BeSplit. (it will tell you the length of the track).
2. if the length is correct, transcode it with BeSweet.

ok so i fixed the file by running the command i saw in the FAQ under your name. i now have a .98 gb file, which is the same length as the movie. i was searching on how to transcode but i couldnt come up with anything. so if you can, please help. can i do the transcdoing using d2s or manually? and after transcoding how do i put the audio and video together? thanx for your help....AGAIN :)

a. dvd2svcd is right - make sure you have enough diskspace.
b .follow q15 from the audio faqs (extracting, fixing with BeSplit)
c. transcode with BeSweet. (using above commandline)
Good Luck !

what is wrong? wrong substream? i thought it transcoded from wav which i had already fixed with BeSplit. the wav is the right lenght....
*EDIT* - do i need to rename the extracted wav to .mp3 or .ac3 before fixing it with BeSplit (audio q 15 says so)? i just left it as wav and fixed it using -type wav command. maybe this is the problem?

a. where is the BeSplit logfile ?
b. it seems like you didn't input BeSweet the output file generated by BeSplit.
c. what's the files' lengthes ?
reminder :copy this commands to a batch file and run :"C:\WINDOWS\be split 0.4\BeSplit.exe" -core( -input C:\monsters\Extracted_audio_1.mpa -prefix c:\windows\monsters\Encoded_audio -logfile c:\monsters\conversions.txt -type mpa -fix )
"C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\BeSweet\BeSweet.exe" -core( -input "c:\windows\monsters\Encoded_audio01.mpa" -output "C:\monsters\Encoded_audio_1.mp2" -logfilea c:\monsters\conversions.txt ) -ota( -g max ) -2lame( -e -b 224 -m s )

when i ran BeSplit on that wav it remained the same...
i used this: BeSplit -core( -input c:\filename.wav -prefix c:\filename -type wav -fix )
is this the problem? must i change the change the extracted .wav to .mp3 or .ac3 and thenrun BeSplit?
edit - so run this command: BeSplit -core( -input c:\filename.wav -prefix c:\filename -type mpa -fix ) ??
