i cannot get this thing to work at all!!
i have tried so many times and this is starting to piss me off. i followed this guide word for word and it does not work. http://www.doom9.org/flask-divx4.htm
when i get to the part where it tells me to open the IFO file that dvddecrypter ripped, it wont open. i have tried opening the VOB files one by one but i run into trouble later. i can deal with that later but it might be cuz of this, so i want to fix this first. anyone know why it wont open the IFO?
Is the file DVD.mism.Xmpeg in your xmpeg root directory? ;)

cool thats what i thought.
im a newbie at this so i didnt know what works and stuff, so i did some reading on divx and started encoding with some settings that sounded good. it got about halfway and then a powersurge came=/
oh well ill try again tonight...but can someone tell me the settings i should use so i know im not messing up??

don't think that u can skrew upwiththe settings if u just calculate your desired bitrate and then jsut use the standard settings. (if u use the pro Version of DivX5 you could also enable bidirectional encoding)

when i do everything in divx5 codec as close to possible as the guide and have "show output" checked while its encoding, should there be any sound tracks playing or just the video?
i tried encoding it but there was some weird error like a quarter way through the second pass but there was never any sound playing. is that normal?? i dont want to waste more time on it if there should be sound
