View Full Version : Demux an Ogg stream?

I have a movie which has DivX 3.11a video and Ogg audio, what program can I use to demux them so I can encode them to SVCD?
Thanks :)
Damnit.
Strike 1 for forum rules violation as well. The over-and-over repeating and lazyness really makes it hard to keep good support up.
If you'd simply had used the forum's search function, your attention may have fallen to this search result when entering "demux ogg":

I did a search for "demux ogg", but only of thread titles... Didn't find anything.
Thanks for the link, but if it annoyed you that much to reply, you shouldn't have bothered. :) Doing that search, I saw you posted in many threads with this same attitude. The point of a forum is to help people, not crap on them because they're asking something that was already asked 2 months ago. Under close observation, gimme a break...
Now the next time someone does a title only search, they'll find this thread... ;)
You don't get the point. We are a _quality_ forum. if you want fast crappy results, take a look at the other left-over forums on the net and try to find something there...
We don't want this to happen here as well.
Another benefit is that you actually LEARN something about the materia you're dealing with this way.
This forum is not only about helping people, it's more a discussion forum where new solutions are discovered and developed.
You make that sound like I or we owe you something, which we absolutely don't do.
Just my 2 cents,
Koepi

No you don't owe me anything, that's exactly my point. When I answer questions on forums it's because I want to help someone, not because I feel I owe them something.
Anyways, thanks for stepping down from that pedestal of yours and answering my moronic question.
What's that supposed to mean?
I answered your question in the first reply.
Why are you trying to insult me? Want to get rid of me here?

No, I'm not insulting you. All I'm trying to say is that if you felt my question was dumb, you could've said so in a more courteous manner, without the "Dammit you're lazy, people like you ruin the forum" attitude...
Another thing to keep in mind is not everybody will use the same words/options in the search. I didn't find anything, so that's why I posted. I didn't think a single post was such a big deal, I mean, I have 20 something posts so I can't be wasting that much bandwidth... :)
Anyways, thanks again, Graphedit worked...

hey koepi i just read the thread you linked to.

This might be a dumb answer, if so ignore it ;)
Why don't you simply do it with Garphedit? Doesnt that work?
Belgabor
Sven,
you seem to read a little too less as usual.
Follow the thread to it's end, there are many good points how to demux an ogm.
Since you don't stop insulting me and falsify my statements I think it's more than open disrespect.
Make this strike 2 on your strike list.
Btw., I'm still waiting for a public apology from your side for your childish mail against my person.
Next time please take the time to read CAREFULLY (or simply, just READ it) what I post here, there are always valid points in.
Pissed off,
Koepi

@Sugadaddy,
To demux the .ogg from the .ogm files is
not possible without decompressing it
become .wav
Just use the GraphEdit,
render your .ogm (Ctrl-R)
delete the video graph after Ogg Splitter,
delete the DefaultDirectSound Device
and add (Ctrl-F) WAV dest and File Writer.
Press Play! ;)
Done, you now have the .wav file.
It is possible without decompressing it, you just have to add another multiplexer for the ogg before the filewriter (1 multiplexer for every ogg stream!).

Its even possible to de/remux in one step (in case you just want to add chapter support or a title)

@ Koepi & ookzDVD
Thank you so much for your detaild explanation. I never used Grephedit before and learnd through this a lot. But I still have one problem.
I got a similar Graph with Render-, Ogg Splitter- and Ogg Multiplexer-Box, but I don't know how to generate the test.ogg Box. E.g. I don't know how to add (Ctrl-F) WAV dest and File Writer.
What exactly in the Insert-Filter Dialog Box I have to select?
Thank you for your attention.

@samurai2000,
you have to select File Writer under DirectShow Filters category and click button Intert Filter.
