Hi,I have question about quality, it seem the pic on my 27inch sony trinitron is beter than on my monitor watch my ripped movies, on my monitor when i enlarge the screen the images are a little blotchy, say like you were looking into a crowd from a little distance, or say ur watching two people fight from a distance as compared to an upclose shot. Iam wondering if that normal cause my tv displays the movie great!.

Another thing , toward the end of a movie from a ripped cd, the video gets jerky for some reason on my jvc player not the computer, I burn my bins with nero at 20 speed, so i upgraded my aspi drivers and burned the same cd again it it wasnt jerky. do you think the upgrade would of made a difference?

Thanks for you help.

Used player might be a factor, but the computer monitor really is much more accurate showing details. Thats the reason u can see the blocks and artefacts much better. Computer monitora aren't really well suited for watching movies.

TVs are much more forgiving when it comes to encode quality. Some encodes that look blocky on your computer monitor look fine on TV. I use a video card with tv out for watching all my encodes.

I burn my bins with nero at 20 speedI don't think it's the ASPI that makes a difference, you were probably just lucky with the next CDR. Generally lower your write speed a bit for (S)VCD, it doesn't have any error correction, so it needs to be as perfect as possible.

vcd has a resolution of 352x288(or 240 for ntsc).if you run your monitor at a high res the vcd has to be enlarged by a bigger factor than your tv.thats why it looks worse on your monitor.lowering your monitor res will make it look better.
