Im Encoding some VCDS of Anime Fansubs for a local comic shop, and im try to make a simple menu.

I can fit about 3 epsisodes a disc, and want to make a menu, that simply says

1. ep1
2. ep2
3. ep3

use 1-3 on your remote.

but when I load the vcd on my dvd player, the screen is black. but windvd plays the menu fine.

first thing I thought was my dvd player is acting up, but I have a vcd with advanced menus, and it works just fine.

I have an Apex Digital 1500 and am using VCD easy to create mpeg stills from a 640x480 .bmp

I'm having the same problem with SVCD's. I'm putting two cartoons on one cd and sizing each MPEG2 file at 49% and sometimes it recognizes the menu and sometimes it doesn't in the final SVCD. I re-encoded the files at 48% of the disk size and then I've had much better luck but I'm trying to understand why this is happening. Not sure if it has something to do with bit rate or what. If I get it figured out I'll let you know.

I was had the setting on High, so the still would be encoded as 704x480 ans it never worked correctly

when I use the low setting, to make the still at 352x240, it always works.

try that
