Wich settings do you recomend to make movies fit into 2 940MB cd's? I've plenty of time.
My player suports XVSCD till 5000kbps (I've a mustek v560) so that is not a problem, and I usually use Multipass VBR 5.

The question is what should I use in

-Encoder settings
Image quality priority:
Antinoise filter:
Field order: (What is this ?)

-Framserver
Rezise methode: I think that Bicubic resize gives the best quality
Temporal Smoother: Some people told that it is useless some say the other way arround.

And finaly the most important
Bitrate settings
Max:
Min:
MinAverage:
MaxAverage:

First I've left this settings alone then I got some problems because with 940 MB cd's the first cd was completly filled with 940MB and the second only got about 640 (300MB less tham what I expected) then I played with the settings and changed the Max to 4000 and the MAx Average to 3500, now both cd's are filled but I've had some problems with the quality of dark frames the colors werent right so I asked for help, Dvd2Svcd told me to increase the Min so I changed Min to 700 insteed of 300 and it kind of solved my problems but I now get ghost images specialy arround permanent subtitles. So that's why I'm asking wich bitrate settings should I use for optimum quality on most movies using the 2 940MB cd's.

By the way if anybody has a mustek v560 I would love to know wich kind of subtitles they use because cvd subtitles look real bad, they are too thick and too close from each other, that is why I have to use permanent subtitles wich have the problem I've mentioned above.

Thanks for any help

I am not going to bash you over the head with forum rules, but this is a rule.

Do not ask "what's best" because this question cannot be answered objectively. Each and everyone has their own view about what's best in a certain area. The best is what works best for you!

I agree completely with this rule.

If you want to find out about each of the things you ask do a search. I know there are threads on them, because I was involved in them.

A quick tip. If you can burn 940mb as a max set the cd size to 934 or lower. DVD2SVCD creates images 6-8mb's larger then what is set.

I've done a search and I havent find any information that I could use, and I've spent about 1 hour doing that. Maybe you could post some. Of course the question is kind of subjective but I'd like to read what people have to say about the particular setting of 940MB, wich seems to be a little diferent tham 740MB or 800MB cd's, for instance I already found out that I have increase the max value in the bitrate. If you prefer I could change the question of Wich is best to what do you recommend, it only a matter of words.

It makes no difference how you word it the bottom line is that nobody can tell you what is best for you.
Also there are very few people using that high a disc size and disc size makes no difference in bitrate. A 30 minute show on a 800mb disc can have very high values.

Once again each of the things you have asked about have been discussed and explained. Image quality priority makes no difference when you increase or decrease the bitrate, it has it's own setting. Neither does any of the other settings you asked about.

Only the bitrate changes and higher will be better. What more do you need to know. Make your encode at the highest bitrate you can use for the number of cd's you want.

You said you did a search. Well I just did one and this helps explain the Image Quality Priority setting:

I do not want to bash you with the rules, but this post violates the rules.

I have been looking at some of your past posts. You keep asking people what are the best settings, etc... Why don't you take a chapter of a DVD, a CDRW disc and try some of these things out for yourself. People can only tell you what they use and everyone here has different settings to suite their own needs. You need to find what works for you, not us.
