View Full Version : Bug Report and Suggestion...

I am using IFOEdit in Windows XP. I was wanting to add DVD Text to an IFO. This is what I did...

1) Created a "fake" project in DVD Maestro since it writes DVD Text information.

2) Opened the VIDEO_TS.IFO created and used HexEdit to copy all information listed in VMG_TXTDT_MG.

3) Used HexEdit to paste all info copied into the VMG_TXTDT_MG of the original VIDEO_TS.IFO.

Everything is fine right up to the point that I click "OK". IFOEdit then crashes when I click "OK". Although I'm not a programmer, I would imagine that if I were able to copy all the hex info over then I would have DVD Text in the original IFO.

If this can at least work, then my suggestion for future versions of IFOEdit would be a simple "DVD Text" button that could be clicked so that just the text itself could be entered. DVD Maestro writes the text as whatever the project is named when saved. I've tested it out and it works great on all players that read DVD Text information.

Thanks for listening! :)

This is not a bug! You can use the HexEdit just for editing existing values, but you can't add or delete values.
This doesn't work yet.

But I take your post as suggestion.
I'll have a look at this DVD Text stuff, cause it is much interesting.

Thanks, Derrow! I sorta had a feeling that was the case. The DVD Text is really cool. I'm not sure what all players support it but I know all of the new Sony's do. Anytime I re-author a movie or create my own DVD project in Maestro, I include the DVD Text. If selected on my Sony player, it scrolls by on the DVD display screen!
