Hi, this is a little off the beat so I hope no one minds. How do you go about copying a copyrighted Protection CD (not DVD) program that you can't copy cd to cd? Any help appreciated Thanks:confused:

If CloneCD cant do it, nothing will - CDRWIN doesnt have a chance. What type of protection is on the disc? CloneCD's ability to correctly backup a protected cd is largely based on what burner you have. Choosing the correct settings is also important. If you're new to CloneCD it is possible that you arent configuring it correctly.

For some write protected CD's, you also need hardware that has certain abilities.
I think one important thing is that your reader/writer should be able to read/write RAW data with subchannels. Most writers can't do that, and then it's impossible to copy the CD...

look into a program called "unsafe disc" it wont let you do a cd to cd copy, but if you do a folder for folder copy, and install the game with the original, unsafe disc will rewrite the exe file on your drive cancelling the games need for the original cd and allowing you to use the backed up copy. this is especially helpful for creating cd images to run games off of virtual drives. worked for me with no one lives forever and alien vs predator.
