Compressability Check Error

Trying to encode SpyGame in Divx 3.1 with G-Knot. When I try to do the compressability check I immediately get an error "G-Knot has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the application"

Any ideas why this is happening? I've used G-Knot about a dozen times on this machine with no problems. I looked for the error log, but it didn't show up anywhere.

a good start would be un installing then re installing gordian knot, if you havent already done so of course

Thanks UHT. I know it seems obvious, but it took an hour of playing around before I finally did the uninstall/reinstall (I was tired) and it didn't help. I'll load GKnot on my other machine this afternoon to see what happens. Any idea where the log file would be, or if it would actually be created?

have a little root around in your gknot directory for it altho it may not even be created as it crashes so early

its really hard to say what the problem could be, my usual fix to problems of this nature is to reinstall the OS altho this is extremely harsh...in my experience it usually fixes things and is often quicker than trying to actually solve the problem ... sorry for the poor suggestion tho
