Fastest 2-IDE drive setup for CCE?

I'm currently running windows XP and have my 2 IDE drives setup as a RAID-0 config (software only)... and I was wondering if it would be faster from a CCE standpoint to just have two normal drives and have the input and output directories on different drives. I guess it would depend on the size of the read/writes from CCE - RAID should be faster if they are fairly large, but maybe 2 drives non-raid would be faster if they were very small bites (as RAID has longer seek times).

any thoughts?

I also tried to set 2/3/4 disks as a SOFTWARE-Raid, but it slowed down the process instead of speeding it up. If you got a Hardware Raid, you will win some speed, but with win2K software-Raid my CPU is spending much time on the Raid itself (In TaskManager the Kernel-Time goes up a lot).
I think it's better to set the folders on different drives, muxing will gain some speed e.g., or get a Hardware-Raid.

That's just my experience, if anybody have another opinion, please feel free to tell us.
