View Full Version : Bug in BeSweet: -ota() mismatches channels when creating 5.1AIFF

Creating of SVCD MPEG-2 multichannel audio tracks with BeSweet and Pub_Enc.exe works fine.
But if you set -ota() parameter (very useful for delaying) the channel order in the multichannel aiff file is mismatched!
Center channel is moved to the right channel!
Tested with v1.3b11.
"d:\DVD\AudioTools\BeSweet\BeSweet.exe"
-core( -input "d:\THE_SCORE\score2 AC3 T01 3_2ch 448Kbps DELAY -232ms.ac3"
-output "d:\THE_SCORE\score2mc51.aif" -6chaiff )
-azid( -c normal -g 3db -L 0 -l 0db ) -ota( -d -232 )
-ssrc( --rate 44100 )
Without the -ota() param the 5.1 channel order is ok.

It will depend on the player, some are becoming very lenient. In fact, VBR mp2 is in the SVCD specs so technically it should be ok. Needless to say, i'm in for a trip to the local electronics store tomorrow with some test CD's.

Many, many thanks for your work, DSPGuru.
I see you are a professional developer -> the silence addition at end of wave track I ever wished!! Every DVD-player cuts the end of SVCD tracks. This damned silence addition I did manually with ce2000 before encoding to mp2.
Now multi-channel conversion to MPEG-2 audio is very easy!
BTW, SVCD specs allow MPEG2 audio, and this is VBR-encoded.

There are some DVD players with MPEG-2 multi-channel output at SVCD!!
SEG Beverly Hills (115,- EUR), SEG Hollywood II, SEG Los Angeles (179,- EUR)
After the latest firmware download the SVCD sound bug is fixed.
I have tested "Los Angeles". Works very fine!! I use digital out.
..And MiniDVD too!
