Hey,
I have a problem when playing back divx files with skipping. When playing back a movie, It seems as if the video AND audio speeds up for a second, then returns back to normal speed.. This happens probably every minute or more, practically making movies unwatchable..(ie: makes you miss an action scene or an important piece of dialog)
It's not too bad, but it gets real annoying real quickly. (I guess its sort of similar to when you try to skip ahead in WMP with some movies - how the video speeds up then returns back to normal speed).
the system is:
-amd duron 600mhz
-256mb pc133 ram
-nvdia tnt2 with tv-out
-soundblaster live! 5.1
-intel etherexpress pro nic
-three hard drives, two 7200rpm, one 5400rpm
-windows98se
FYI, movies USED to play fine on this system, until recently. They play perfectly on all my other computers, so i'm sure the movies are fine.
some things i tried were:
-lowering the cpu settings (right click->properties->advanced in WMP)
-swapping the cpu / sound card / video card
-reinstall of windows / divx codec (3.11 and 4.12)
This is really baffling me..I thought the reinstall of windows would have helped, but the exact same thing happens.
Any help is greatly appreciated.. Thanks

ps: i tried searching for forums for people with similar problems but found none..
