Where is the codec?

hi!
i've installed umaniacs build 28.04.02 on my pc. regulary first i've had to deinstall the version before. everything went ok. but after i looked into virtualdub, i did'nt see anything. it's like the codec was deinstalled and the new one not installed. so, can anyone help me?

Make sure vdub is not running

Install xvid again

Then re-load vdub and see if its there.

If thats no good you need to tell us more things such as, OS version, VDUB version etc..

nope, i cant see the codec anymore, but if i install koepis xvid, i wont get any problems.

The install script of that version in fact seems screwed...it forgets to extract the xvid.dll and xvid.ax to windows\system32. You can find the two files in program files\xvid and copy them manually to windows\system32. maybe do a regsvr32 xvid.ax to register the directshow filter (I personally insert nic's filter instead anyway).

There seem's to have been an error when XviD.dll was built. I'll see if I can fix it.

I did a few short clips with it...seemed fine...isn't it just the installer?

Ripping 3ngine, as you started this thread this very day, you obviously are able to reach uManics site.
I do not. Since yesterday. I don't know if it's ZoneAlarm again interfering because I had problems days back with it. But this time I don't have any error message.
What is wrong ?

My web-provider was having server problems. It should be fixed now, according to them. I couldn't reach my site eather so the final fixed version wasn't ready until 16:20 GMT today.

There is no fixed version...I am downloading the one without koepis xvid explained and the installer is still screwed.

I just checked, and my web-server is now up again. I did an update so the newest build should be on-line now. The changelogs are correct, but some of the builds are gone forever ... :( My provider was swiching a server on friday and they did somthing wrong. They now claim to have fixed the problem. :D
