Here's my project set-up....
2 movies, 1 is 720x480, one is 352x480...not sure if thats a conflict in itself, because I havent gotten far enough to find out...
it braks down into 3 menus...every asset besides the one movie is at 352x480...the menus are set up as a seamless track, and the sub-pictures are layered respectively, and in the preview windows, they line up perfectly, as do the highlights...but once I render the files into a DVD video, the subs and higlights get stretched halfway off the screen! I've tried changing the subs res's between 720 and 352 Horizontally, and have tried setting the default settings for scenarist projects back and forth between the 2 resolutions for NTSC still images....but no matter what, they get squished nearly off the screen...any ideas what I might be doing wrong here? I couldnt find any dealings on this in the forums anywhere, and I've been trying to get it right for a few days now! :scared:

Try it on some other DVD Players first. Some DVD players may play it "correctly". I have encountered some problem playing enhanced 16:9 menu with subpicture not synchronized in 4:3 TV with "4:3 LB" setting. Synchronized here means both the picture and subpicture are shown at the same size. Some standalone DVD players play correctly but some do not.

Thanks drpaulng, but I never even attempted to burn it to a disc yet because of this, I've opening it in Power DVD as a test reference point...so far as yet, I have never had a problem with Power DVD ever playing anything 'differently' at all...

well, if anyone else has this problem, it seems to be the resolution, NOT the aspect ratio...it worked fine with a 720x480 res m2v, just not a half-d one.

Well, as you said, you should change the resolution back to the "standard" 720*480 menus whild you can. I usually do my menu with true 4:3 aspect ration first (with photoshop at 720*540) but for DVD authoring standard (NTSC), I change the picture height to 720*480 and save it as BMP file and keep the original PSD file readily re-touch-able with layers remain un-merged down. And I set the encoding bit rate up to the highest for very clear still menu. A still menu does not occupy much size, right?
...But I don't know how to use the sweep, fade-in advance effect of the sub-pictures yet (it seems to be employed in the menu of "saving private Ryan").
